On March 21, China Chamber of Commerce to the EU and Fudan Institute of Belt and Road & Global Governance jointly held a webinar on Geopolitical Risks faced by Chinese Companies in Europe in the context of Russia-Ukraine Crisis and Countermeasures". Mr. Peng Gang, Minister of the Chinese Mission to the EU attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Xu Haifeng, President of CCCEU, scholars from Fudan University and Wuhan University and representatives of Chinese companies in Europe also attended the webinar.
In his speech, Peng said that the situation in Russia and Ukraine has brought challenges to the economic recovery of Europe and the world, but the mutually beneficial fundamentals of China-EU economic and trade cooperation have not changed, and the prospects of Chinese companies in Europe remain promising. Chinese companies should improve their confidence in development, be more mindful of potential risks, strengthen solidarity and coordination, and jointly push forward bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
All parties also exchanged views on EU sanctions on Russia and the impacts.
